This is an excellent column about the dangers of sex trafficking, and while it does give a passing nod to the reality that men and boys are sold, raped and enslaved as well, the emphasis is on women and their sex trafficking risk.

Florida has one of the highest numbers of slave labor (trafficking) concentrations in the country as well. The hospitality industry uses enslaved persons of both sexes in many capacities, from hotel maids to industrial cleaning crews, grounds maintenance, construction, agriculture, even fishing. They must not be confused with illegal migrants.

One local source for self-education is the Coalition of Immokalee Workers *******ciw-online****/slavery/

The transnational organized crime that controls much this crime is also controlling other crime affecting everyone. It's a mistake to focus on only one shell on the beach.
