Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

On May 7, 2009, Mary A. Griswold entered peacefully into eternal rest at Hope Hospice Shell Point in Fort Myers. She was 85.

Mary was a devoted mother to Gigi Monroe (Dr. Robert), Scott Griswold (Karen), Cheryl Wolford (Phil) and Bonnie West (John). She was a loving and fun grandmother to Heidi (Al), Allison (Jesse) Bethany (Marcus), Ben, Carlee, Doree, Dana (Matt), Eddie (Noelle), Kate and Jack and a great grandmother of three.

Mary was born in Evansville, Indiana, raised her family in Bay Village, Ohio and moved to Fort Myers in 1981. It was here she joyfully worked at the Sanibel Captiva Community Bank until her retirement in 2005 at the age of 81. During the years she lived in Fort Myers, she was blessed to be surrounded by many wonderful people. Mary's family, friends and church community were very important to her.
