Where else on Sanibel will you find a sparkling red carpet display, complete with movie stars and glamorous couples – all on their way to view some great films to be presented by local artists?
Rusty Farst, a Sanibel filmmaker is collaborating with BIG ARTS to bring a film-screening showcase of local filmmakers to Sanibel. Farst’s vision is to provide an opportunity for local artists to show off their work, to create a memorable event and allow the audience an opportunity to share their thoughts on the films.
The Filmmakers Showcase will take place on Wednesday, March 16 at BIG ARTS' Schein Performance Hall between 1 and 7 p.m. Admission is free.
The window display, located at the Bailey’s Center on the corner of Tarpon Bay Road and Periwinkle Way, was created by Farst to help promote the event. Everyone should have no trouble spotting it between Nick’s Frozen Yogurt and the Sanibel Shell. Glamorous guests and fun props line the red carpet as they make their way to the Filmmakers Showcase.
Come out to see it at night, complete with flashing lights and cameras. Don’t forget to take some pictures of yourself with the stars and e-mail them to email@example.com to be featured on our blogs and websites.
“I encourage everyone to take some time and check out the display as you make plans to attend this event,” said Farst. “We have many talented filmmakers and we are really looking forward to creating a fun atmosphere for everyone involved.”
