Theological Study focuses on 'Thees, Thous and the King James Bible'

April 29, 2011
Submitted by SANDY SIMMONS

The next Theological Study at Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ will focus on "Thees, Thous and the King James Bible" on Wednesday, May 4 and Wednesday, May 11.

Four hundred years ago, the King James version of the Bible was first published. While it was not the first English translation of the Bible, it proved to be the most important advance in making scriptures available to lay people. The story of its creation and the struggle that led to its publication are fascinating parts of church history.

The two-week course, taught by Rev. Dr. John H. Danner, will be offered at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the above dates at the church's Fellowship Hall, located at 2050 Periwinkle Way

Please register at Sunday morning Fellowship Hour or by calling the church office at 472-0497. The cadences of the KJV have shaped generations of Christians. Come and find out how they came to be.
