Readers are invited to discuss "The Help," by author Kathryn Stockett, which is the focus of the Wednesday, May 25 book discussion meeting at the Sanibel Public Library, 770 Dunlop Road. The gathering is open to the public and there is no charge for admission. The group discussion will be let by Winnie Ballard.
In Jackson, Miss. in 1962, there are lines that are not crossed. With the civil rights movement exploding all around them, three women start a movement of their own, forever changing a town and the way women – black and white, mothers and daughters – view one another.
The group discussion begins promptly at 2 p.m. in the Library’s ground floor meeting room across from the elevator (Meeting Room 4). It is preferable to come having read the book to be able to join in the lively discussion, but all are welcome. If you have questions, please call the library at 472-2483.
