Fishing spots still open for Redfish Challenge

Lee Memorial Health System Foundation announces that Angler spots are still available for the 8th annual Ryan McCleskey Memorial Redfish Challenge set for Saturday, May 19, at Cape Harbour Marina in Cape Coral.

The day on the water runs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes food, chance drawings and cash prizes of $1,500 for first place, $750 second place and $500 third place.

A mandatory captains' meeting takes place at 5:30 p.m. on May 18 at the The Twisted Conch, 837 SE 47th Terrace, Cape Coral. The entry fee is $250 for up to four anglers. Proceeds from the event benefit Barbara's Friends for the Children's Hospital Cancer Fund at Lee Memorial Health System.

The tournament honors Ryan McCleskey whose fight against cancer ended on Feb. 3, 2006. Family, friends, and acquaintances of Ryan wish to continue his battle with loving memory.
