Florida Everblades coach Greg Poss will stay with the ECHL Kelly Cup champions for a third season, president and general manager Craig Brush reported last week.
Poss returns as head coach, after leading the team to its first Kelly Cup championship this spring. The Green Bay, Wisc., native led the Blades to a 39-26-2-5 record, including an impressive 15-3 run in postseason play.
"I am excited to come back to this great franchise, and get things started for next season," said Poss. "Our goal will not be to go out there and just defend the cup, but to go out and attack it throughout the course of the season."
In his first season with the Blades, Poss directed the team to the postseason for the 13th consecutive season, posting a 37-30-1-4 record during the 2010-11 regular season. Prior to Florida, Poss served as an assistant coach for the ECHL's Ontario Reign.
"I am very pleased to have Greg return to the team as a Kelly Cup champion coach," said Brush. "I know he will work as hard as ever to duplicate his success for next season as well."
