Nancy J. Davis Baker

Nancy J. Davis Baker, 78, formerly of Sanibel, passed away at her home in Dandridge, Tenn., on July 23, 2012 after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years Robert A. (Bob) Baker, son Mark Baker and wife Teresa of Sanibel; son Scott Baker and wife Lesa of Dandridge; grandchildren Ryan Baker and Nick Baker of Sanibel and Isabelle Baker of Dandridge. She and Bob attended Sanibel Community Church during their years on the island.

Nancy was the daughter of the late Jasper Judson Davis and Alverta Grubb Davis of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.

She was a 1951 graduate of Rush-Strong School and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where she majored in home economics.

Nancy was a beautiful lady, a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed gourmet cooking and traveling with her husband and family. As a newlywed she lived for several years in Japan where Bob served as an Air Force officer.

Interment will be July 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Dandridge.
