At about 10:15 a.m., Cape Coral emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of Del Prado Boulevard, according to officials.
The crash occurred at 3231 Del Prado Blvd. S. As a result of the collision, one vehicle came to a stop in the northbound lanes, while the other two remained southbound.
Two people were transported to the hospital, said Battalion Chief Ryan Lamb, with the Cape fire department. Crews on scene reported to him that the injuries were minor.
Following the crash, a police vehicle that was securing the scene was rear ended by a fourth uninvolved vehicle. There were no injures reported in the second accident.
"So we ended up with a total of five vehicles," Lamb said.
As of noon, officials reported that the area was clear and open to traffic.
