Some businesses and residences will be in the dark temporarily one night next week while the historic home known as Shore Haven is relocated from Bird Lane to the Sanibel Historical Museum & Village at 950 Dunlop Road.

Electric service will be interrupted starting at about 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, until 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Lee County Electric Cooperative must temporarily disconnect power lines along the route during the move. LCEC expects the power to be out anywhere from 30 minutes to as much as two hours.

The power outage generally affects areas from the bayfront along Dixie Beach Road to Periwinkle Way and extending to Dunlop Road.

Sanibel officials urge electric customers in the area to monitor the city's website (www.mysanibel.com) for updates in case the project is delayed or postponed and rescheduled. The website also has a map of the affected area.

Anyone with questions regarding this project can contact Alex Werner, president of the Sanibel Historical Museum & Village at (239) 472-8871, or Sanibel City Hall at (239) 472-3700.
