Native plant sale Oct. 20

October 5, 2012
Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

The Coccoloba Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society in Lee County is hosting its annual fall native plant sale at Manatee Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Native plants serve a role in reducing the use of fertilizer and pesticides, and their necessity in our home landscapes to provide food and housing for native birds, butterflies and other wildlife.

The native plant sale is the primary source of funds for the Coccoloba Chapter, which uses the funds in the community through native plant projects as schools, libraries, roadways, parks and other publuc places.

For more information on the Coccoloba Chapter call John Sibley (239) 671-9663.
