In an announcement on Jan. 18, the owner of Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille on Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach announced he was taking over Holy Smokes Heavenly BBQ at Chadwick's Square on Captiva Island. Marty Harrity said renovations to the restaurant that was part of South Seas Island Resort are scheduled to begin Feb. 1 with the work being done by Mark Anderson of Benchmark.
"There is wonderful tradition here," said Harrity of Chadwick's Square. "We want it to be what it was and we won't stop until we are there....This is a wonderful opportunity for both of us."
