League of Women Voters to discuss women's history

February 15, 2013
Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

The League of Women Voters of Lee County will celebrate March as women's history month.

Join the discussion of the evolution of women's roles in society during the past five decades at a breakfast meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 12601 University Drive. The cost of the breakfast is $10.

The focus of the discussion centers on contradictions in cultural expectations of women's roles within the home, socially and in the workplace, and how the challenges of working through these contradictions set the stage for both cultural and legal changes in subsequent decades.

League members and the public are invited to make reservations by calling 239-462-3444 or e-mail carolbf@centurylink.net
