Golfers in Southwest Florida are invited to participate in the third annual Harry Chapin Food Bank golf classic to be played on Thursday, May 9, at Grandezza Golf & Country Club in Estero.

The foursome scramble tees off with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Registration begins at 12:30.

Golfers, sponsors at all levels, and silent auction items are needed for the event. The cost per player is $125 and includes green fees with cart, awards and dinner. Non-golfers can support this event through auction donations, volunteering, and a variety of sponsorships. Every dollar raised enables the food bank to distribute $6 worth of food to those in need.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank solicits, collects and stores quality food for distribution to families in need through a network of 160 nonprofit agencies in Lee, Collier, Hendry, Charlotte and Glades counties providing food to more than 30,000 people monthly.

For more information, to register, to obtain sponsorships, to donate silent or live auction items, or to be a volunteer contact Miriam Pereira, development director, at 239-334-7007, ext. 127, or at
