April 19, 2013

Update: No suspicious devices or packages were discovered in the Lee County Government Building. All employees have been allowed back into the building and all roadways are open for travel.

The bomb-threat appears to be a hoax and Cape Coral Police Detectives continue to investigate, officials said.

Original story:

The Cape Coral Police Department are on the scene of a bomb threat at the Lee County Government Building, at 1039 S.E. Ninth Place, according to officials.

Police received call at 11:45 a.m. about a possible explosive device in the building. The building has been evacuated, as is customary in a bomb threat incident.

Emergency crews are working with building managers to search for anything suspicious. The block surrounding the building has been closed off to vehicle traffic.

No device has been located and no injuries have been reported at this time.

Additional information will be made available once the scene is cleared and the roadways are opened.
