On Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, the Sanibel Island Fishing Club will be holding it's first monthly meeting of the 2013-2014 fishing season. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the north room of the Sanibel Island Community House, which is located at 2173 Periwinkle Way. The featured speaker will begin his presentation at 7 p.m. sharp. There is no admission charge for the event and the angling public is cordially invited to attend.
This months featured speakers are two professional fishing guides who operate near the Getaway Marina on Ft. Myers Beach. The two captians, Keyle Ezerins (offshore fishing) and Steve Ware (inshore fishing), will be doing an interesting presentation based on two very different kinds of fishing.
Captain Kyle does the majority of the offshore fishing from a 36-foot Luhrs Open. He focuses on amberjack, grouper, snapper, cobia and offshore sharks. Captain Steve Ware operates a much smaller inshore boat and targets the usual inshore species such as snook, redfish, sea trout and shark. Combined this should be a unique and entertaining presentation for anyone interested in discovering the two outstanding fisheries surrounding Sanibel and Captiva.
