Sanibel Skin Spa, a place to relax, renew, and revive, is now open inside the Sanibel Health Club.

Owners Holly and Joel Torres previously owned the Westhampton Day Spa at the Bath and Tennis Hotel in Westhampton Beach, N.Y., and are bringing their experience and passion to the Sanibel Skin Spa.

"We're really happy to be here in the Sanibel Health Club," said Holly Torres. "It has a great, relaxing atmosphere like a retreat spa."

Holly Torres, a licensed esthetician and make-up artist, and Joel Torres, a licensed masseur who graduated at the top of his class from the Swedish Institute in New York City, are offering various facial packages, from a Hibiscus Purifying Facial to Microdermabrasion, body treatments, waxing, and make-up. All of the spa products come from Pure Fiji, a line from the South Pacific that combines ancient traditions with plant extracts.

The spa also offers a variety of massages from Joe Torres, who specializes in Thai and Warm Seashell massages, and Joanna Baugh who provides customized massages to customers.

The health club is an ideal location for the Sanibel Skin Spa, said Holly Torres.

"You need an environment for a spa and this location lends itself to that," she said.

Sanibel Health Club Owner Nancy Niesel said the club is ramping up its services to the island. One way is scheduling more personal training sessions

"There are a lot of opportunities for one-on-one training especially with the demographics on the island," said Tony DiCosta, personal trainer.

Customers will also be able to order post-workout smoothies, juice or coffee at the Green Cup Cafe, a new juice bar operated by Karolina Vaickute.

"I have a lot of options for smoothies for people working out," said Vaickute.

The fruits and vegetables are all organic, she said, the coffee is locally-sourced, and the cafe offers unique teas such as Kombucha, an ancient Chinese blend with attributed health benefits.
