Sanibel Police: Investigation ongoing for suspect in lewd acts

The Sanibel Police Department is continuing to investigate three incidents of lewd acts between April 10-12.

Sanibel Police Chief Bill Tomlinson said officers are still searching for the suspect.

"Our investigators have received and followed up on the many tips that we have received, unfortunately none have yielded the identity of the perpetrator," said Tomlinson.

Officers are still asking the community for assistance in identifying the individual responsible.

The suspect is identified as: A white male with pale skin, approximately 25-to-45 years of age, approximately 6-feet tall, thin with an "athletic" build, short blond hair with blond eyebrows, and a deep voice.

The first incident occurred on Nerita Street on Thursday, April 10 at approximately 11 p.m. The 13-year-old victim stated when she went out to the lanai she saw a male standing there. He said "I just can't help myself." The victim ran from the unit and told her guardian. Law enforcement was notified the following day.

The second incident occurred in the Seagull Estates area on Friday, April 12, at approximately 3:05 a.m.

The 55-year-old victim stated she was seated on her couch in the living room when she observed a male standing on the lanai comitting a lewd act. The suspect left before officers arrived.

The third incident occurred in the area of Camino Del Mar on Friday, April 12, at approximately 4:20 a.m. The 15-year-old victim stated she awoke to find a male standing in her room with his hand on her buttocks while he performed a lewd act upon himself. The male left through the window he used to enter the room.

The Sanibel Police Department strongly encourages residents and guests to adhere to the following: Lock all doors and windows, close shades and curtains at night.

Immediately report all suspicious activities to the Sanibel Police Department
