Vote yes on Conservation 20/20

To the editor:

I am writing on behalf of the "Ding" Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge (DDWS) on Sanibel Island. DDWS is an avid supporter of the Lee County Conservation 20/20 program and urges all Lee County voters to vote "Yes" in this election to support the continuation of 20/20's benefits to our environment, dwindling wildlife habit, threatened water supplies, and quality of life.

Thanks to a partnership with 20/20 in 2013, DDWS was able to purchase sensitive acreage along Tarpon Bay at Woodring Point to come under the guardianship of the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge. We, the board and members of DDWS, hope to see partnerships with 20/20 continue in the future to save land whose development would negatively impact wildlife habitat here.

When voting by mail, or at the polls, look at the end of the ballot for "County Referendum" and vote "Yes." Remember that passage of the referendum will not in any way impact local taxes.
