Clarence "Larry" Wehner

Clarence "Larry" Wehner passed away peacefully January 26th, 2017 surrounded by family in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Born December 11, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan and the youngest of three sons to Howard and Eleanor (Wegener) Wehner. The family grew up in a small home in Saginaw Township. He graduated from Saginaw Arthur Hill High School in 1956 and went on to get a business degree from the University of Michigan.

A true salesman at heart, he sold Fuller Brushes as a teenager. He had a successful career as the founder of WECO Inc. in 1972. Their core business catered to the automotive machine tool industry selling enclosures and metal fabrications for SCE. He was a gifted communicator and patient listener.

He married Carole Ann Landon in 1959 and they had two sons, Scott and Brett while resided in Flushing, Michigan for many years. He later married Carol Ray Withey in 1978 and welcomed her two daughters Teri and Wendy to the family. Dad and Carol spent many loving years traveling the world. They spent many years living in New Zealand and most recently Petoskey, MI and Captiva, Florida.

Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a mentor to many and respected by all he knew. He was an avid reader and loved walking on the beach and along the water.

Larry is survived by his wife Carol Wehner of Captiva, Fla, sons Scott Wehner of Kailua, HI and Brett Wehner of Flushing, MI, step daughter Teri (Dave) Hankel of Bethesda, MD, sister in law Sally Meisinger, Gaylord, Mi, brother in law Jim (Lou) Withey Flint, MI, John (Martha) Withey of Harbor Springs, Mi, sister in law Ruth Wehner of Escondido, CA, grand children Lauren, Leah, Sara, Hannah, Heidi and Landon Wehner, Mack (Heidi) Boening, Gus Boening, Ray and Conner Malley. Great grandchildren, Quin and Graydon Boening. Dear friend Leslie Trower. Many other nieces, nephews and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Kenneth and Donald, step daughter Wendy Boening.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
