Incumbents have earned support

To the editor:

As a long-time attendee to City Council meetings, I can attest to what a pleasure it is to have a well-functioning dedicated team working in concert with one another to solve the city's problems.

This is particularly important with water quality issues as their success will determine our economic future and viability as a community. In the past six months, Kevin Ruane and Mick Denham have attended over 100 water related meetings. That's just meetings and does not include briefings, phone calls that surrounds those meetings, nor reflect the time involved getting there and back. All of these meetings are making a difference showing the link between economic viability and sound water management around the state. The conversation has changed. The voice calving for those practices to be implemented has increased. No longer a situation where we have to convince people of the need to solve the problems, we are now into how to resolve the problems. Support and backup by Marty Harrity and the rest of the council speaks volumes to value in have a good team in place.

Meanwhile the team has not been idle on the home front. They have overseen reduction in taxes and debt, while maintaining services to our community. They have asked for our support. I think they deserve it. I intend to vote for the incumbents and I urge you to do so also.
