Road watch for Burnt Store Road

A heads up - upcoming road watch update for Burnt Store Road:

Burnt Store Road from Diplomat Parkway to Tropicana Parkway: Construction Project Week of July 23:

This project consists of the initial widening of Burnt Store Road to four lanes. The project also includes installation of conduits under the road for the City of Cape Coral. Motorists should expect intermittent northbound and southbound lane closures during nighttime/overnight hours, weather permitting.

During the week of July 23, expect lanes closures overnight/nighttime from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews mill and resurface the roadway. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Motorists should use caution during this night work.

* NW 7th Terrace at the intersection on the east side of Burnt Store Road: This intersection is PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

* NW 9th Street at the intersection on the east side of Burnt Store Road: This intersection is PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

* NW 9th Terrace at the intersection on the east side of Burnt Store Road: This intersection is PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

* NW 5th Terrace at the intersection on the east side of Burnt Store Road: This intersection is TEMPORARILY CLOSED until May 2019.

Motorists should follow the detour signs and seek alternate routes.

This middle segment from Diplomat Parkway to Tropicana Parkway costs $6.7 million and the City of Cape Coral's utility conduits are $550,000. The contractor is Wright

Construction. The project is expected to be completed fall 2019.
