"It is with a heavy heart that we inform our community that Fort Myers Police Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller has passed away as a result of the injuries sustained on Saturday, July 21st," the FMPD said in a press release issued shortly before 7 p.m. "We ask that you continue to pray for Officer Jobbers-Miller's family, friends and our entire Fort Myers Police Department Family."

Sunday's fundraiser at the Dixie Roadhouse will go on as scheduled. Funds raised will be donated to Officer Jobbers-Miller's family.

The recent shooting of Fort Myers Police Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller has sent shockwaves through the Southwest Florida community.

Jobbers-Miller was wounded in the line of duty July 21 responding to a call at the Marathon service station on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Fort Myers.

An outpour of support was almost immediate.

For example, hundreds lined up in a moment's notice when the Fort Myers Police Department put the word out that he was in need of blood donations.

As he continues to fight for recovery inside Lee Memorial Hospital, his loved ones and friends advocate for his future well being out in the community.

To All Heart Entertainment owner Dominique "Nicky" Minor Sierra (along with wife Lori), Jobbers-Miller is a future brother in law. She is using her business as a platform to help raise money for the officer who remained in stable, yet critical condition, Thursday.

"My brother Maurice (who is also involved in the business), is engaged to Adam's sister. Even if Officer Adam wasn't blood related, we would have still put together this fundraiser for him," said Minor Sierra.

All Heart Entertainment is a local business dedicated to raising money for non-profit organizations, as well as conducting private parties and social functions through poker fundraisers, casino night events, and drag queen and king bingo.

A no limit Texas hold 'em poker fundraiser to benefit Officer Jobbers-Miller will take place Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Moody River Grille in North Fort Myers.

All benefits will go to Officer Jobbers-Miller and his family.

The event begins at 5 p.m. with cards being dealt at 6:30.

For a $75 donation, participants will receive a seat in the tournament, dinner and a non-alcoholic beverage. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Other than the poker game, a 50/50 raffle, Brand 1 Ink T-shirts and other prizes are available.

"If they tip the dealer, they will receive extra playing chips for the tournament," Minor Sierra said. "Starting stack is 10,000 playing chips. First Place will win $750, second place will win $300, and third place will win $150."

All Heart Entertainment frequently supports causes, but this one hits close to home.

"People should come out to support their fellow officer in our community, because without hesitation, Adam does this every single day, not knowing if he's coming home or not to make our community a better and safer place. Even though this is Adams job, he is selfless and humble to do his best for us not knowing all of us," Minor Sierra said.

"The most unfortunate thing that happens to people is that they limit themselves by becoming afraid to try anything new. Give yourself a chance," is a quote by an anonymous writer that Minor Sierra said her father gave her in the sixth grade.

"Now is my chance to help a fellow officer, a brother in law, a friend, a human being. Help us help Adam and give him a chance!" she said.

The person police say shot Jobbers-Miller is in custody.

Jobbers-Miller, 29, has been a member of the FMPD since September of 2015.

Registration for the fundraiser can be found at www.allheartentertainment.org or by calling Minor Sierra at 239-645-5866.

If you are not able to attend the event, but wish to contribute to Jobbers-Miller's recovery, a Go Fund Me account run by FMPD is available at www.gofundme.com/officer-adam-jobbersmiller-fund.

Moody River Grille is at 4085 Hancock Bridge Parkway, North Fort Myers.
