The meeting is free and open to the public.

Florida is one of the few states that do not restore felons' voting rights after their sentences are served. They must undergo a seven-year waiting period, after which felons have to petition the state for restoration. According to the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, there are approximately l.5 million felons in Florida who have been denied their voting rights.

Volz has over 25 years of experience working as a public servant and community advocate, including as the chief of staff for a member of Congress and program director for a non-profit that serves formerly homeless veterans. While in Washington, Volz helped negotiate and secure passage for the Help America Vote Act. He is president of the board of directors for Be the Light and also serves on the board for the Freedom and Virtue Institute, Habitat for Humanity of Lee, Hendry and Glades County, and Lee County Homeless Coalition. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Ohio State University.
