Family Storytime

An all-ages program from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Sanibel Public Library, at 770 Dunlop Road, Sanibel, that encourages the development of pre-reading skills through songs, rhymes, fingerplays and stories. No registration or cost. For information, call Deanna Evans at 239-472-2483.

Bailey Homestead: Making the Land Work

A walking tour of the Bailey Homestead Preserve from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. blends SCCF's mission-driven work on the historic property, the history of the land itself and some stories about the Bailey family. Cost is $5 for non-members. Meet at the Conservation Gateway Kiosk at the head of the Shipley Trail, at 3333 Sanibel Captiva Road, Sanibel. For information, call 239-472-2329.

Community Social

A Community Social will be held at 6 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. The theme will be "Pasta Night." Created by Resident Chef Jarred Harris, the menu will feature vegetable lasagna, spinach ravioli and spaghetti carbonara. Adults are $15; children ages 10 and under are $10. Turtle Tracks

Learn about the life cycles and habits of the sea turtles and shorebirds that nest on Sanibel beaches, SCCF's monitoring activities and what it is doing to protect them from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Nature Center, at 3333 Sanibel Captiva Road, Sanibel. Lunch-and-Learn Workshop

F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva and Rachel Tritaik, of Island Therapy Center, will host "A Balancing Act: I Might Wobble, But I Won't Fall Down!" from noon to 1:30 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. The lunch-and-learn workshop will address the environmental, situational and individual factors that contribute to falls, as well as offer tips to mitigate them and ways to improve balance reactions. Farmers Market

Shell Point Retirement Community will host a Farmers Market from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Center Court at The Woodlands, at 15101 Shell Point Blvd., Fort Myers. Take a leisurely stroll while shopping for locally-grown produce, freshly-caught seafood, homemade baked goods, Brisket Brothers pulled pork, all natural soaps and lotions, and more. Cash only. Donut Drop-in End of Summer Reading Party

The Donut Drop-in End of Summer Reading Party will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Sanibel Public Library, at 770 Dunlop Road, Sanibel. The event will celebrate all of the reading participants in the reading program did over the summer. Also, it is the last chance for them to pick up the books that they earned through reading. Shell Crafters

All-Levels Yoga

All-Levels Yoga from 10 to 11 a.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Use of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), mudra, philosophy, meditation and guided relaxation techniques. Instructor is Dr. Susan Pataky.
