Sanibel police arrest, charge two with several drug counts

Two people are facing multiple drug charges after being stopped by the Sanibel police.

On Aug. 25, police came into contact with Jaimi Medina, 40, of 262 Harp Terrace, Apt. A, Sebastian, and Mannie Robbin Hilken, 31, of 10318 Tillery Road, Spring Hill. They were driving a stolen vehicle, according to officials at the Sanibel Police Department.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the two were in possession of 140 grams of methamphetamine, along with syringes and other drug paraphernalia. They were taken into custody.

Medina was arrested and charged with two counts of amphetamine traffic or methamphetamine 14 grams or over, as well as one count each of drugs possess listed chemical with manufacture controlled substance, drugs produce methamphetamine and drug equipment possess use manufacture paraphernalia to transport drugs.

Hilken was arrested and charged with two counts each of drive with suspended revoked license and amphetamine traffic or methamphetamine 14 grams or over and one count of drugs produce methamphetamine.

Officials reported that additional charges are pending.

Medina has a court appearance set for Sept. 25.

Hilken has court appearances set for Sept. 12 and Sept. 24.

Police are working with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office on returning the vehicle to its owner.
