Shell museum project moving along

June 26, 2019
Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum staff was recently banned from the building so the first section of concrete could be poured, according to officials in an update on the renovation project. Also, just as Dorothy needed lots of friends to navigate her way through OZ, the museum's "Dorothy" - Executive Director Dorrie Hipschman - would not find her way without help along the way. The team is working through a multitude of decisions, options and choices, which are intersected and complex. Fortunately, the team members have great brains, warm hearts and lots of courage, officials noted.
