The Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club will meet on Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel; doors open at 1:45 p.m. for a silent auction and refreshments. Linda Schroeder, a member of the Pacific Northwest Shell Club, will present the program, "A Peek at the Underwater World of Indonesia." It will feature photography of marine creatures from Lembeh Island and Bali. Schroeder volunteers as a lead naturalist doing intertidal monitoring surveys for several aquatic reserves in northwest Washington and also volunteers at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture in Seattle, where she assists with the curation of their shell collection. The photography in the presentation is by Pacific Northwest Shell Club members Karin Fletcher and Doug Miller. Door prizes will be awarded. The meeting is free and open to the public.
