Sanibel Sea School to offer free beach walk

November 14, 2019
Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

The Sanibel Sea School will host its Thankful for the Ocean Community Beach Walk on Black Friday, Nov. 29, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Gulfside City Park, at 2001 Algiers Lane, Sanibel. Inspired by REI's Opt Outside movement, which encourages people to go out and explore instead of shopping, it has become an annual tradition. Bring a reusable mug of coffee and join the organization's marine science educators to explore what has washed ashore the morning after Thanksgiving. They will talk about any interesting organisms and objects found along the way, share some basic biology and answer questions. The event is free and all ages are welcome; children under 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Group size is limited and registration is required at sanibelseaschool.org/thanksgiving. For more information, contact 239-472-8585 or info@sanibelseaschool.org.
